In July of 2024, Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR)performed a conditions assessment to document and map the paving issues along portions of the Burke-Gilman Trail maintained by SPR. This information is used to help inform planning for future trail maintenance as part of this ongoing program.

Repair work was completed in 2025 between the intersections of 77th and Inverness. Planning is now underway for 2026 repairs.

Thanks to Seattle Park District funds, SPR regularly maintains the Burke Gilman to ensure that this invaluable community asset remains a safe and enjoyable resource for all users. Within the scope of our Asset Management & Life Cycle Program, this project conducts routine repair of sections of the Burke Gilman Trail where the paving is impacted by age and uplift caused by roots.
