Fall 2025

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first community meeting! Please share your feedback in the survey below!

Project Description

This project will replace the existing play equipment with new equipment that meets current safety and accessibility standards. Site improvements will include:
  • New play equipment (including age 2-5 and age 5-12 equipment)
  • New safety surfacing
  • New site furnishings
  • Repair of existing drainage infrastructure
  • Mulch and lawn restoration around the play area
  • Pavement repair for accessibility

As part of this project, we are looking to replace the existing sandbox with new play equipment designed specifically for children ages 2–5. Replacing the sandbox with inclusive, age-appropriate equipment will ensure that children of all abilities can engage meaningfully in play. Modern play features—such as climbing elements, tactile panels, and musical components—offer a wider range of sensory and developmental experiences than sand alone. These improvements will enhance play value, reduce maintenance needs, and improve long-term safety and durability.

During construction, the contractor will need to close the play area in the park.

SPR and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impacts to the neighborhood.
