Fall 2025

SPR needs your valuable input on the proposed design for a new visitor center, meeting and office space, restroom, and outdoor courtyard at the Kubota Garden. These designs are based on community input from the 2019 Master Plan. Thank you for helping shape the future of Kubota Garden!

Join us in person on Saturday, October 18, 2028 from 11am - 1pm at the Kubota Garden Entrance and/or watch the video below and share your thoughts via the survey.

Project Description

This is a planning project to determine the feasibility and schematic design for a proposed Kubota Garden Visitor Center. There is currently no funding for construction of the project. The new facilities are proposed to be located within a natural, historic, and culturally significant landscape, with its structures designed to be secondary to the Garden setting.

The anticipated primary uses would include:

  • a welcoming space with a reception/exhibit area
  • a small gift shop
  • a meeting room to accommodate program events and indoor exhibitions
  • restroom facilities
  • outdoor courtyards and decks for informal gatherings
  • an office space

Planning, programming, and early design efforts for the Visitor Center have begun and we anticipate holding a community meeting in the fall of 2025 to share the progress.
