Early 2026
Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Arboretum Foundation and the University of Washington Botanic Gardens, are working in partnership to develop the first phase of the China Forest, within the Pacific Connections Garden as part of the implementation effort per the 2001 Arboretum Master Plan. The project will provide an accessible pathway from the existing Azalea Way, Arboretum Loop Trail and parking area to the Pacific Connections Garden and historic Lookout Gazebo. The pathway is designed to weave through existing collections and will feature new plantings along and between the routes.
